John Sutton, rector

I grew up in Piedmont, California, graduated from U.C. Berkeley, received an MBA and an MS in telecommunications from Golden Gate University, and a M. Div. from CDSP.  I was a telecommunications consultant and a Naval Officer before I joined the priesthood. I am happy to be a part of a warm and loving community of faith.

T.C Yao, assistant rector

I was born and raised in Shanghai, China.  I came to the US in 1947.  I was trained as a chemist, working on the Research staff of Shell Development for many years. In later years I ran my own industrial x-ray laboratory.

I and a number of others were recruited by Bishop Pike as a core of the so-called “tent-making clergy”.  I was ordained as a deacon in 1966, and as a priest in 1968.  I was the co-vicar of St. Giles Episcopal Church, Moraga, from 1968 to1972.  I have been an assistant at St. Anselm's from 1972 to the present and an assistant at Church of Our Savior, Oakland, from 1968 to the present.

Naomi Chamberlain-Harris, deacon
Lindsay Hills, seminarian

I am currently in my final semester of seminary at Church Divinity School of the Pacific, Episcopal Seminary in Berkeley.  I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church and discovered the Episcopal Church during my final year of college at Bryn Mawr in Pennsylvania.  My calling as a priest in the church goes back to when I was a little girl, and I am happy to be able to do my final preparatory training at St. Anselm’s.

Carol Fontana, office manager

I graduated from Oregon State University where I met and married my husband.  We then relocated to Hawaii where I spent several years working in the travel industry and then as the office manager for a small architectural firm.  After 19 years in the islands we moved to the Bay Area.  I have been the office manager here since 1998 and have come to value friendship and fellowship that I have found at St. Anselm's.

Doug Merrill, webmaster

I'm St. Anselm's jack of all trades and master of none, especially this one.  But I'm trying.  Please e-mail your updates and comments to me at Merrilldougt@comcast.net.
