The Memorial Garden lies east of the church building. A shaded and tranquil hide-away suitable for prayer and meditation, it honors the memories of parishioners, friends, and family members. The garden features brick pathways and wooden benches surrounded by trees and shrubbery. A bronze statue of Saint Francis
(right), sculpted by Spero Anargerous, stands in the northeast corner. Nearer the church, a wrought-iron screen that holds inscribed brass plaques incorporates the butterfly, a symbol of new life.
The annual blossoming of the flowering dogwood tree in the garden's
courtyard (below) proclaims the theme of renewal in our own lives.
